The Planning Commission conducted a series of walking tours in the summer of 2022 through each of the village centers to learn more about each from fellow town residents. In May 2021, the Town completed a Scoping project for a stretch of sidewalk connecting the Sawmill site to Park Street. Tatro stabilized the Sawmill building by putting on a new roof, new windows and siding. He is thinking a mix of residential and commercial uses. The majority of remainder of the Sawmill site is currently vacant, but was recently purchased by Greg Tatro and he is beginning to develop plans for the large sawmill parcel. More development is planned behind the Market. The zoning developed is "character based zoning". From that project, came new zoning for the area - "Character Based Zoning Code" This included an Environmental Assessment in 2005 to determine the environmental conditions on site, including wastewater, stormwater, and site contaminants.Ģ013 - 2015 Jericho held "Planapalooza" to create a new zoning that would guide future development in the area to match the community's vision for their village. Since the time that the Sawmill shut down, the towns of Jericho and Underhill have undertaken several planning initiatives to envision how the site could be developed. As of now, there are no specific tenants for the building, but stay tuned! The sawmill is currently getting a face lift. Key to this area is the site of the former Sawmill, that shut down in 2001.
